SIMPLICITY IN MOTION #15
Simplicity in Motion #15 was the first piece inthe series that was conceived as a ‘sister’ piece and so its design was made to resemble that of Simplicity in Motion #6. The original piece was made from a salvaged piece of Olive Wood and since its completion Adam sought to find another piece of Olive Wood with similar dimensions and charateristics. He eventually found this piece that was part of a tree that had been cut down due to disease.
As a pair they play with the notion of juxtaposition - opposites. They could be Sun (#6) and Moon (#15); hard and soft; sharp and round. Or perhaps they could just be a pair of sculptures that are happier together than they are apart - much like siblings.
